How to become a member of wbcbr

1. Determine Your Membership Type

 WBCBR offers two main types of membership:

  • REALTOR® Membership (for licensed real estate professionals)
  • Affiliate Membership (for businesses or individuals who work with the real estate industry but are not licensed agents)

2. Gather Required Documents

For REALTOR® Membership, you’ll need:

  •  A valid real estate license
  • Proof of NC Real Estate Commission license in good standing
  • NRDS Number (if transferring from another Board)
  • For Affiliate Membership, you’ll need: 
  • Business contact information
  • Industry details (for example: lender, home inspector, attorney, etc.)   

3.Complete the application

  •  REALTOR® Application
  •  Affiliate Application

4. Submit Your Application

You can submit your completed application by:

  • Emailing it to darlene@wbcbr.com

or

  • Mailing or delivering it in person (confirm delivery details by contacting WBCBR directly)

5. Pay the Required Fees

 WBCBR charges annual membership dues and possible one-time application fees.

6. Attend Orientation

 New 1st time  REALTOR® members are required to:

  • Attend a New Member Orientation session
  • Complete Code of Ethics training (required by the National Association of REALTORS®)

Orientation details will be provided after your application is accepted.

7. Membership Approval

Once your application and dues are processed:

  • Your application will be reviewed and approved by the Association Executive (AE)
  • You'll be notified of your official membership status
  • You’ll receive an email with all your logins and passwords and a link to the mandatory Orientation Class.   

8. Access Member Benefits

  Once approved, you gain access to:

 ✅ Local networking events

 ✅ MLS services (if applicable)
✅ Educational opportunities
✅ Advocacy and industry updates
✅ NAR and NC REALTORS® benefits
