COMMITTEE Opportunities & DESCRIPTIONS

FAIR HOUSING/EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

Lead: Beth Byrd: 

To facilitate fair housing for all and to promote Fair Housing Month (April).   

FINANCE

Lead: Jeff Tripp

To provide financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the yearly budget.

LEGISLATIVE/POLITICAL AFFAIRS

Lead: Jennifer Brinson

To inform the Board of all legislative matters including local, state and national updates. To serve as the liasion with the State and National Association Communities.  Also, to provide an educational program for general membership on political activity, encourage and support Board members to run for elected or appointed offices, and monitor political activities of governmental officials.

REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC)

Leads: Jeff Tripp & Jennifer Brinson

To promote and collect RPAC funds. To educate membership about the importance of RPAC to the organization and how it supports the Real Estate Industry.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS/GRIEVANCE

Leads: Robin Pond & Jay Martin

To assure members adherence to high ethical standards. To receive ethics complaints filed by the public and members and to arbitrate requests to determine if a hearing is warranted. This committee only supplies a preliminary evaluation to help determine further decisions.  This committee does not hold hearings, does not decide if members have violated the Code of Ethics Committee members, and does not mediate or arbitrate business disputes.  

OMBUDSMEN

Lead: Jeff Tripp

To resolve differences between members and members and the general public that do not fall within the purview of the Code of Ethics.  The Ombudsman does not determine ethics violations, rather they anticipate, identify, and resolve misunderstandings and disagreements before the matter becomes a dispute. 

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Leads: Daniel Hill, Amie Fulcher, Beth Byrd, Lauren Atkins

To promote active participation, by members, in civic activities, and to develop and supervise projects, including newspaper, radio, TV publicity, and social media platforms which will reinforce public awareness of the difference between a REALTOR® and a licensee and help create the best possible “Public Image” of the Board and its members.

To manage and monitor the public WBCBOR Facebook Page and private WBCBOR Members only Facebook group.  

SOCIAL

Lead: Montana Lausch, Amie Fulcher

To make arrangements for facilities, food, and entertainment or programs, for all Board Approved social events.  

AWARDS

Leads: Tonya Ayers, Beth Byrd

To oversee the logistics and distribution of all awards (Rookie of the Year, REALTOR® of the Year and yearly production awards. 

To order and have award plaques prepared for  the Awards General Membership Meeting.  

TECHNOLOGY

Lead: Amie Fulcher, Lauren Atkins

To inform and share new technologies and tools with general membership. To monitor and update WBCBOR website.

Local Governance

Adhock Committee

To oversee the bylaws that govern our local association and to stay informed of changes to the bylaws that govern the National and State Associations.  To share all updates with the general membership that are recommended by the Board of Directors to keep the BOD in compliance with NAR & NCAR changes.

MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE

To operate an activity (1) by which a Participant makes a blanket unilateral offer of sub-agency to other Participants (2) that is a facility for the orderly correlation and dissemination of listing information among Participants so that they may better serve their clients and the public.
