Committee Involvement
We encourage you to jump right in and join a committee, one that best suits your talents and interests. The North Carolina Real Estate Commission requires that you maintain an active license with yearly Continuing Education hours, and as a service to all of our members we provide countless opportunities for in-class education and training led by the best educators around the country, as well as a complete online resource at competitive prices for those interested in a more independent experience that you can visit here.
Legislative Advocacy & Political Action
As REALTORS®, it is our duty to stay informed on the political welfare of our industry, and by supporting the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC), you become a vital pillar to one of the largest and most influential political groups in North Carolina and in the country. Washington-Beaufort County Board of REALTOR® Membership Types
Washington-Beaufort County Board of REALTOR® has 4 annual memberships:
REALTOR® Member
A REALTOR® is defined as an individual who holds an active real estate or appraiser's license. REALTORS® also hold membership with the NC Association of REALTORS® (NCAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). For an application, go here.
Designated REALTOR® Broker
A Designated REALTOR® is defined as a Principal, Partner, Corporate Officer, or Branch Manager of a Real Estate firm. There is only one Designated REALTOR® per company, and he/she is responsible for paying dues for all licensed agents within the organization. For an application, go here.
MLS Only
MLS Only membership is defined as a Principal, Partner, Corporate Officer, or Branch Manager of a Real Estate firm joining our MLS as a Participant without also participating in a REALTOR® board of Association. An MLS Only Broker and his/her licensed agents are not responsible for paying dues to our Association. An Affiliate is an individual who does not hold an active real estate license, but has interests in the real estate profession, please fill out this form.

In order to join the Board, you will need to pay the prorated amount of your membership fees and an application fee. Dues schedules are available in each application. Go to our Applications & Forms page to view an application.
REALTOR® Emeritus
A REALTOR® Emeritus is any person who has held membership in the National Association as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, or a combination of both, for a cumulative period of 40 years in one or more Associations of REALTORS®, has served on at least 2 NAR committees, is eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status. Upon approval by the Board of Directors of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, no further payment of dues is necessary to the local, state or national Associations.
The dues waiver does not take effect until the following 'dues season'. For example, members approved as Emeritus at the NAR Mid-Year or Annual meetings in 2014 would have their dues waived starting in 2015. Upon approval, each REALTOR® Emeritus member will receive a congratulatory letter, certificate and 40-year REALTOR® Emeritus lapel pin.
